Chitwan Sakriya Womens Foundation

Chitwan Sakriya Women's Foundation (CSWF) is the first People Living with HIV (PLHIV)-led non-profit making, apolitical community-based social organization in Chitwan District. It was established in 2006 to improve the quality of life of PLHIV through a holistic approach and promote women's rights through empowerment activities. For the past ten years, CSWF has been investing efforts to reach its intended aim. Among other achievements, CSWF has strengthened the organizational capacity and linked with networks, coordinated and built the capacity in partnership and programming for key populations, and initiated advocacy efforts and resource mobilization. CSWF stands for women and tries to employ only women, preferably Women from underprivileged groups, by involving them in Income Generating Program. CSWF also mobilizes community volunteers representing PLHIV, project beneficiaries, female community health volunteers (FCHV), and women groups. The local women groups in Municipalities across Chitwan have also backed up CSWF. CSWF has considered inclusive representations of Dalits, Janajatis, and women from marginal communities while recruiting its staff and providing its services.
